So excited to be teaching Books 5, 6, and 9 (!) teacher training courses at beautiful Lake Sylvia!
Looking forward to seeing all my Suzuki Association colleagues at the biennial Leadership Retreat. On the docket this year: helping with the new Suzuki Flute video, planning the 2018 Conference flute activities, and participating in a discussion about Suzuki workshops!

The Music Institute Chorale opens their season with a concert celebrating the music of Canada, Mexico, and Cuba. Daniel Wallenberg, conductor; Gregory Shifrin, pianist. Guest Artists: Rae-Myra Hilliard, voice; Meret Bitticks, flute; Zachary Preucil, cello.
Students at the Music Institute of Chicago will perform their fall solo recital pieces at Thoresen Performance Center at the Winnetka campus.
I will be presenting a masterclass titled: From Cuckoo to Chaminade
We'll explore how to set our students up to be successful with this piece from the very beginning of their flute study through the example of a Suzuki Book 1 piece.

BLUME Haiti board members Janet Anthony(cello) and Meret Bitticks (flute) will be joined by Ethnomusicologist Lauren Eldridge and Music Institute faculty for a benefit concert featuring music by Haitian composers. Proceeds will help BLUME Haiti continue to support music education programs that reach nearly 4,000 students from throughout Haiti! Takes place at Nichols Concert Hall. $15 suggested donation at door.
